Favorites: 2015 Roundup

So it’s officially 2016… what is this madness?! As I’m still in shock, I’m not quite ready to go out with the old and in with the yet. That said, I thought today I’d bring you a roundup of some of my favorite things I loved during 2015, but with a twist. Instead of choosing favorites by category, I thought instead that I would choose my favorite or most used product(s) of each month during 2015. With that, let’s jump into my top 20 products for of the year by month!

January 2015

This Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion was my most used lip color for the winter. It was the perfect transition from the holidays into the new year. The color is a lovely deep cool-toned burgundy and the formula is a moisturizing lip cream stain! I ended up featuring this in my Berry Lip Colors Post a few months later.

February 2015

Appropriately, February was full of pinks. I reached for this Rose Gold blush from Sleek the most, as I ended up finding to be a dupe for Nars Orgasm in my Product Comparison Post. The peachy-pink with gold flecks is such a flattering tone and the formula is pretty smooth! I also featured this Rimmel Provocalips in “I’ll Call You”in my Liquid Lipsticks Wishlist Wednesday, and ended up purchasing it and loving it! The formula is ultra long lasting and the color is a beautiful neutral pink.

March 2015

March was full of discovering some good staples from Maybelline. I finally got my hands on the matte formula of Maybelline Fit Me, as I had used the original dewy formula for years before. I also decided to try a new mascara from the drugstore and settled for Maybelline The Rocket. Both are still in my everyday rotation.

April 2015

During April, I brought out the bright colors for spring and my birthday. I used this Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald in both my Birthday Tutorial and Spring Makeup Tutorial. For lips, I rocked this bright magenta shade I Heart This, my first and favorite Colourpop purchases.

May 2015

During the Sephora VIB sale I picked up my beloved Anastasia Contour Kit and have not put it down since. I used this most heavily the few weeks right after I got it, which happened to be all through May. This has been seen in multiple tutorials since and I have yet to contour with much else for the rest of the year.

June 2015

For June, I really started to try several new things, including this Pixi Brow Duo. This was my first brow pencil and gel and I really enjoyed the convenience of having them in one product, especially for travelling during the summer. This also ended up in plenty tutorials, especially during the summer and even in my Summer Favorites.

July 2015

July for me was all about that glow! I got my hands on the coveted Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop and I still use this on the reg. The stunning peachy gold gives the ultimate glow! I also used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded to give the perfect amount of subtle champagne shimmer- perfect for lazy summer days- to the lid.

August 2015

The Lorac Pro Palette ended up being the perfect summer palette- a great selection of colors and finishes that are perfect for travelling. I used this in plenty of posts including my Summer Lookbook. Also in my Summer Lookbook, was this MAC Lipstick in Rebel. This is still by far my favorite shade from them- a bright berry tone that is the perfect shade to transition into the fall.

September 2015

This year I was blessed with many opportunities to work with brands that I never thought would give me a second glance due to my small beginnings. Nonetheless, one sample I ended up using a ton for the rest of the year ended up being these Younique 3D Lash + Fibers. I know these have a controversial background, but the gal who sent me these was so pleasant to work with! (not sponsored). These really built my little lashes up nicely and I wrote a full review on them in my Younique Review.

October 2015

In October I placed another order to Colourpop  since they released their 90s collection, probably my favorite release from them this year by far. Also being a Friend’s fan I just had to get my hands on the shadow Central Perk, and as you can see I’ve put quite the dent in it since then. This was featured in my 90s Tutorial and also my Fall Favorites. I also ended up loving this deluxe sample that came with my Pro Palette of this Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer. The formula is thick so it ends up creating such a smooth base and makes shadows blend with ease. I used this in several tutorials and also featured it in my Fall Favorites this year.

November 2015

I discovered my favorite fall lip combo through my 90s Tutorial and ended up loving it so much that it landed in my Fall Favorites as well. The Gerard Cosmetics 1995 Lipstick is a beautiful mauve matte shade and combined with the brown Grunge shade from Colourpop, it makes the most beautiful and long wearing (dare I say it… ) Kylie shade.

December 2015

The Tartelette Palette closed out my year with a wonderful selection of beautiful matte shades. This ended up being in my last favorites as well and my Holiday Lookbook. I also ended my year with finally perfecting that cat eye. Winged liner was my go-to look and was made a ton easier by using my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper to get the perfect flick, also perfectly demonstrated in my Holiday Lookbook.
