Guest Post: Shades of Summer

Hello beautifuls!

Thank you so much to Megan for having me as a guest blogger today. I have really enjoyed creating this post! Hope you are all having a lovely day. I’m Rachael an Australian blogger who runs myvioletdelights.com. I am mostly a fashion blogger who gives advice on how to style all the latest trends and where to find the best sale items.

Summer is a wonderful time to wear fabulous patterns paired with bold necklaces. When you are styling patterns, such as this fabulous dress, try to pair the pattern with simple pieces. I have styled this dress with a black sleeveless duster coat from Boohoo. A light duster coat like this can help create a ‘well put together’ Summer look. In Winter creating a ‘well put together’ look is effortless through perfectly layered pieces. Why not bring this idea into Summer? I adore the waterfall trim of the coat. Finding pieces like this makes styling incredibly easy. Even when you are having a casual Friday, your style can be filled with effortless class.

Recently I have been adoring the beautifully pigmented colours from Chi Chi’s Elegant and Bases palettes. The Bases palette has multiple shades to create an everyday makeup look. I have used some of the lighter pink tones on my lip, along with the gorgeous shade of orange in the crease. To add some glitter to my lid I’ve also added a few shades from the Elegant palette, along with the darkest brown shade in the crease.

Stars are my current obsession. These earrings from Prouds give the perfect touch of sparkle to an everyday outfit.

I have paired these earrings with a detailed statement necklace from Mirina Collections. I am going to be completely honest with you. This necklace is so easy to style with Summer pieces it’s insane. For me, it’s my instant outfit saver. What I mean by that is, if my outfit appears as if it is missing something or doesn’t quite have that Summer look, it’s my go to piece.

To add an extra dash of colour to the look I’ve used this stunning bag from Colette. The dusty pink tone is brilliant to add colour to monochrome outfits without being too bold. I’ve also added the grey fluffy chain from Factorie. The darker shade of grey blissfully compliments the dusty pink.

I must admit I adore the heel version of these shoes. However, unfortunately heels aren’t always the most practical everyday footwear, or the most comfortable. These flats from London Rebel are a great alternative, along with a dressier and more interesting piece rather than plain flats.
